July 18, 2005 — WilmingtonSenator Carper helped announce $16.8 million Hope Grant form the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development at the new Village of Eastlake. Senator Carper was joined by Congressman Mike Castle and Mayor Jim Baker, who served as witnesses to the deed of a couple buying a new home in the community.
July 11, 2005 — SmyrnaSenator Carper met with Dwayne Bull of the new Powerhouse Ministries. Powerhouse is in the process of expanding their building. The senator was able to tour the building and Mr. Bull showed him the construction of their new kitchen.

July 1, 2005 — Rehoboth BeachCongressman Castle and Senator Carper spent some time talking to Delaware families about the replenishment project at Rehoboth Beach. This local family said the addition of new sand and a widened beach coincided perfectly with their summer vacation!
