July 18, 2005 — WilmingtonSenator Carper helped announce $16.8 million Hope Grant form the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development at the new Village of Eastlake. Senator Carper was joined by Congressman Mike Castle and Mayor Jim Baker, who served as witnesses to the deed of a couple buying a new home in the community.
July 11, 2005 — SmyrnaSenator Carper met with Dwayne Bull of the new Powerhouse Ministries. Powerhouse is in the process of expanding their building. The senator was able to tour the building and Mr. Bull showed him the construction of their new kitchen.
July 11, 2005 — SmyrnaSenator Carper visited the newly-renovated Public Health Laboratory where he watched Lynne simulate testing hazardous materials.
July 11, 2005Senator Carper was honored to help United States Department of Agriculture celebrate its open house in a building where the Farm Services Agency, Natural Resource Conservation Service and Rural Development will be able to share a partnership that is dedicated to serving farmers and other rural customers.
July 1, 2005 — MilfordSenator Carper visited Heritage of Milford, an assisted living facility, to hear and share "What the 4th of July means to me."
