January 12, 2006 — LaurelSenator Carper observed the national poultry testing program at an Allen's Poultry farm. He learned how to swab the inside of a chicken's mouth with assistance from Dr. Tom Holder and another Allen team member.
January 12, 2006 — GeorgetownSenator Carper stopped by Georgetown Elementary School to hear results of Project V.I.L.L.A.G.E. - an innovative, early childhood program implemented at the school. He was able to visit with some of the students and see what they do in class each day.

January 6, 2006 — DoverSenator Carper toured Delaware State University's Chemistry Department after his announcement that DSU was getting more than $3.2 million in federal funding for a hydrogen storage facility on campus, focused on finding materials that can store and release large quantities of hydrogen gas for vehicles. Dr. Preston Hayward, an associate professor of chemistry, and the senator listen as Sohrab Amiri explains his work.
January 5, 2006 — New CastleSenator Carper joined Congressman Mike Castle and Governor Ruth Ann Minner in congratulating Ion Power, a small technology firm in New Castle that has installed the state's first commercial fuel cell. He is shown with founder Dr. Stephen Grot and Grot's wife, Wendy.
January 5, 2006Senator Carper visited Lake Forest Elementary School, where he talked to the students about how laws are made. He stopped in many classrooms, including this one, and then he read letters written by those students, thanking him for coming to their school.
January 5, 2006 — LewesSenator Carper went to see the new equipment purchased by Harrington Fire Company with the federal grant money they received earlier this year. He got to try some of the new equipment on and got to meet many of the volunteers who serve the community.

January 4, 2006 — LewesSenator Carper visited Mid Atlantic Family Practice to learn more about this new clinic's Health Information Technology System. Here, the senator got a first-hand look at a demonstration.
January 3, 2006 — WilmingtonTo kick off the new year, Senator Carper visited St. Michael's School and Nursery where he joined Congressman Castle in announcing $200,000 in federal funding for the school. He talked with former students who come back to work with the children and with current students about what they like best about St. Michael's.
