March 26, 2009 — WashingtonSenator Carper spoke at DuPont's "Investing In America" event on Captiol Hill where he praised DuPont for its work developing and manufacturing state of the art personal protective equipment for first responders. Some of the materials are used by Jeff Gordon (pictured) and others when they race. All are made in the United States.
March 23, 2009 — NewarkSenators Carper and Kaufman, Governor Markell and Lt. Gov. Denn joined together to announce how nearly $38 million in federal funding will help make Delaware more energy independent. The three officials appeared at CMI Electric, a solar panel producing small business that will benefit from the funding, which comes from the recently passed economic recovery package.
March 20, 2009 — CamdenSenator Carper was at the Food Lion in Camden to help announce that the Delaware Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC Program - is one of only two programs in the country that have implemented the United States Department of Agriculture's new WIC Food Packages. He had the chance to speak to some WIC participants who think the program is working well.
March 20, 2009Senator Carper joined Congressman Castle and Kevin Smith from Sen. Kaufman's office to present $398,000 in federal funding for the Delaware Volunteer Fireman's Association to be used for recruitment.
March 16, 2009 — New CastleION Power hosted Senator Carper, Congressman Castle, DEDO Director Alan Levine, Representative Valerie Longhurst and others for the unveiling of their new wind turbine.
March 13, 2009 — WilmingtonSenator Carper celebrated the generosity of Delawareans at the Food Bank of Delaware through the 'Delaware Does More' program. The original goal was to raise 300,000 pounds of food and $250,000 in incremental donations. As of this week, over 343,000 pounds of food and over $300,000 has been collected. More than 700 businesses, community groups, faith groups, schools and individuals stepped up to help.
March 13, 2009 — DoverGiving American consumers more nutritional information about the menu items at chain food restaurants is the goal of the Labeling Education and Nutrition (LEAN) Act, introduced by Senators Carper and Murkowski. Senator Carper rolled out his legislation for the crowd at Buffalo Wild Wings in Dover.

March 13, 2009 — SmyrnaSenator Carper helped cut the ribbon for a new group home for six physically disabled adults created by The Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation, the Black Diamond Hope House. The Foundation is committed to creating home-like, long-term residences that are an alternative to institutional facilities and nursing homes, and is also committed to providing housing and services to adults with Cerebral Palsy, helping to avoid unnecessary institutionalization.
