Senator Carper hosted an event to celebrate the start of the Nemours Health and Prevention Services "Make School a Moving Experience" program, which is designed to get kids off the couch and increase their physical activity. This is an exciting program that will improve the lives of Delaware children. Senator Carper is a strong advocate of physical activity and Nemours' 5-2-1-Almost None healthy living program.  January 5, 2010 — New Castle
Senator Carper recently received a demonstration in woodworking by Easter Seals program participant Zane Meigs, of Newark, while touring the newly expanded Easter Seals building in New Castle. A 27,000 sq.ft. addition allowed Easter Seals to more than double their space at their Corporate Commons site. Easter Seals offers a range of services, including outpatient rehabilitation therapy, early intervention services for children, day services for adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and assistive technology services to increase the functional capabilities of people with disabilities.
