BLADES, Del. – On Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, U.S. Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons and U.S. Rep. John Carney (all D-Del.) will highlight the Nanticoke River dredging project with representatives from the state of Delaware, Sussex County and the Army Corps of Engineers. Earlier this year, Delaware's Congressional delegation announced federal funding for the dredging of the Nanticoke River. The dredging project is essential to ensuring safe, efficient navigation for barges that transport grains, gravel and fuel along the Nanticoke.
Sens. Carper and Coons, Rep. Carney to Highlight Nanticoke River Dredging Project

Nanticoke River Yacht Club, 30 N. Market St., Blades, Del. (south side of the river before the Seaford drawbridge)
- From the north, take U.S. 13 south to Seaford. Turn right onto Middleford Road. Follow Middleford Road into downtown Seaford, turning left onto Front Street at stoplight. Cross over the Nanticoke River (Front Street becomes North Market); entrance to Blades Marina/Nanticoke River Yacht Club is on the right.
- From the south, take U.S. 13 north to Blades. Turn left onto SR 20 (Concord Road/High Street). Follow SR 20 into Blades. At stop sign, turn right onto North Market Street; entrance to Blades Marina/Nanticoke River Yacht Club is on the left, just before the drawbridge.
