For too long, our immigration system has been broken, and now is the time to fix it in a way that's practical, effective, and fair. Last month, the Senate passed the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (S. 744). The bill was amended, improved and passed in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote. After months of debate, the Senate took action to fix our broken system once and for all. Now, the House must pass an immigration reform bill. The time is now to reform our immigration system, strengthen our border security and ensure that millions of undocumented immigrants living in America can come out of the shadows. Read my full statement on the Senate’s bill, including what I pushed for in the legislation here.
