Sen. Carper Encourages Hurricane Preparedness

WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) encouraged all Delawareans to review hurricane preparedness procedures as Hurricane Irene approaches the Mid-Atlantic region. Emergency preparedness resources, as well as information regarding Hurricane Irene’s trajectory, are available on the hurricane preparedness page of Sen. Carper’s website.

“It is imperative that Delawareans know what to do in order to keep their families and homes safe in the event of a hurricane,” said Sen. Carper. “Proper preparation can help prevent serious damage to homes and property, and can even save lives. I will continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Irene and its potential impact on the First State, and I encourage Delawareans to do the same. I also urge all Delawareans to review the emergency preparedness procedures posted on my website and to take the necessary steps now to prepare their families and homes for any threat from Hurricane Irene or future storms.”
