Sen. Carper Helps Department of Defense Recognize DuPont’s Support for Hiring Veterans and Reservists

WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), a Navy veteran and member of the Senate Veterans Jobs Caucus, joined representatives from the Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization to recognize the DuPont Company for its ongoing support for hiring veterans and reservists. ESGR promotes cooperation between reservists and civilian employers.

“As a veteran, I’m thankful for both public entities like the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve organization and private companies like Delaware’s own DuPont for all the good work they do to ensure our service men and women have jobs when they return home,” said Sen. Carper. “As I recall, DuPont’s former motto was ‘Better Things for Better Living.’ Now, DuPont is showing its commitment to providing one of the best things for our veterans and service members: jobs. These young men and women have fought for our country overseas; they shouldn’t have to fight for a job when they come home. It’s exciting to see that companies back home in Delaware like DuPont have shown tremendous leadership in reducing veterans unemployment, and I encourage more businesses across the country to do the same.”
