Chairman Carper Reacts to DHS 2014 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review

WASHINGTON – Today, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.) released the following reaction to the Department of Homeland Security’s2014 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review:

Chairman Carper: “More than 240,000 men and women at the Department of Homeland Security report to work each day – many in dangerous situations – with one critical mission: to ensure that our homeland is safe, secure, and resilient against terrorism and other threats. From countering terrorism, to securing our borders and airports, to responding to natural disasters, few federal agencies touch the lives of Americans on a daily basis more than the Department of Homeland Security. The 2014 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review provides a clear and unified vision for the Department’s dedicated employees and outlines an important roadmap for securing our homeland. As my Committee and I continue to examine the details of this review and the security challenges that we face as a country, I look forward to working with Secretary Johnson and his team to help them continue to put a solid and effective homeland security plan into action.”
