DOVER, Del. – On Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, press is invited to join U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) at the following events in Kent County:

Sen. Carper will attend the Operation Caring Classroom Assembly at Welch Elementary School. Operation Caring Classroom is a week-long program that takes place the week of Veterans Day.  Now in its eighth year, OCC builds a bridge of understanding between military and civilian children in all 50 states by helping school children develop an understanding of the joys and hardships of life in a military family. 

Time: 10 – 11 a.m.

Location: Welch Elementary School, 3100 Hawthorne Dr., Dover Air Force Base, Dover

Sen. Carper to visit Harvest Years Senior Center and Modern Maturity Senior Center and discuss Medicare Part D open enrollment.

Time: Harvest Years, 11:15 – 11:45 a.m.; Modern Maturity, 12 – 12:45 p.m.

Location: Harvest Years, 30 South Street, Camden; Modern Maturity, 1121 Forrest Ave, Dover

Sen. Carper will donate food to the Turkey Round-Up. Presented by the ATI Physical Therapy and First State Orthopedics, Turkey Round-Up will collect frozen turkeys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Food Bank of Delaware from Buffalo Wild Wings in Bear and Dover from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 

Time: 1 – 1:45 p.m.

Location: Buffalo Wild Wings Parking Lot, 680 S. Bay Rd., Dover

Sen. Carper will visit the newly opened Dick's Sporting Goods in the Dover Mall. 

Time: 2 – 3 p.m.
