WASHINGTON - The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, led by Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., and Ranking Member Susan Collins, R-Me., will hold a hearing, “Transforming Wartime Contracting: Recommendations of the Commission on Wartime Contracting,” on Wednesday, September 21, at 2:30 p.m. The hearing will examine the recent report issued by the Commission on Wartime Contracting, which found as much as $60 billion has been wasted in the reconstruction and stabilization of Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. The report offers 15 recommendations to prevent waste and fraud in the future.
