Sen. Carper will attend the announcement of the funding and plan for the C&D Canal Trail with Sen. Coons, Rep. Carney (both D-Del.), DNREC Sec. Collin O'Mara, DelDOT Sec. Shailen Bhatt and other state and local leaders. This state and federally-funded project will create a safe, recreational opportunity along the canal where people can hike, bicycle, jog, and ride horses.

Where:
Beneath the St. Georges Bridge on the northern side of the trail. Rain location: Grass Dale Conference Center. For detailed directions, please see below.

Take I-95 south to exit 4A for Rt. 1(SR-1) south.
Stay straight on SR-1 for about 7.1 miles.
Take the US-13 S/SR-72 exit, Exit 152, toward Delaware City/St. Georges 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Wrangle Hill Rd./S Dupont Hwy./US-13/SR-72, 0.2 miles.
Turn right at US-13 South 0.2 miles.
Stay straight on Dupont Highway/US-13 South for 1.3 miles.
Just before you get to the base of St. George's Bridge bear to right onto Dupont Pky.
Dupont Pky. runs parallel to Rt. 13.
Follow this road on the west side of St. George's Bridge down to the canal.

Take I-95 south to exit 4A for Rt. 1(SR-1) south.
Stay straight on SR-1 for about 7.1 miles.
Take the US-13 S/SR-72 exit, Exit 152, toward Delaware City/St Georges 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Wrangle Hill Rd./S Dupont Hwy./US-13/SR-72.
Stay straight on Rt. 72/Wrangle Hill Road for approximately 4.5 to 5 miles toward Delaware City.
Just after you go across the Branch Canal bridge and before you enter the ramp to the Reedy Point. Bridge, bear to your right on Polktown Road.
This road runs parallel to Rt. 9 and the Reedy Point Bridge.
Follow road toward the canal and Grass Dale Conference Center is on your right just before the canal.
