WILMINGTON, Del. – On Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) will be in Delaware for the following events:                                                  

Sen. Carper will attend the groundbreaking of the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare. Beebe received federal funding championed by Sen. Carper to help with the $10 million building expansion and renovation that will help address the regional shortage of nurses, and provide classroom and clinical experiences for the students.

Sen. Carper will attend the Citizens’ Hose Company No. 1 Annual Holiday Banquet at the Clayton Fire Hall.

Sen. Carper will attend Delaware State University President's Scholarship Ball at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino. This black-tie event benefits the DSU student scholarship fund.

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location: Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, 1131 North DuPont Highway, Dover, Del.

Sen. Carper will attend the Harry K. Foundation Christmas Ball, which raises money for children’s nutritional programming in Sussex County. The Help Harry Halt Hunger (H4 Initiative) supports the Food Bank of Delaware.

Sen. Carper will attend an event honoring the 150th Anniversary of the Delaware State Dental Society.
