WILMINGTON – On Thursday, May 3, 2012, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) will participate in an event to announce more than $41,000 in federal funding to New Castle County from the Economic Development Administration. This grant award will go toward creating an economic development plan to revitalize the Routes 9 and 13 Corridor. The plan will identify opportunities for small and existing businesses to better use the current highway, rail and air infrastructure to grow and expand operations and increase exports. The plan will also identify ways to invest in the workforce through job training programs and ultimately revitalize this community.
