Carper, Carney to Tour Delaware River Dredging

Press is invited to join tugboat tour on the Delaware River to discuss dredging project.

WILMINGTON, Del. – On Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper and Congressman John Carney (both D-Del.) invite press to join them on a tugboat tour of the Delaware River to view portions of the river that have been dredged and discuss the economic effect on Delaware and the region. Sen. Carper and Congressman Carney will be joined by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Becking who is in charge of the dredging project.

Confirmed press should assemble in the parking lot adjacent to the Port's gate by 3:15 p.m. to board a shuttle to the tugboat dock. Port Address: One Hausel Road, Wilmington, DE 19801.
