Dover, Del. – On Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, U.S. Sen. Carper (D-Del.) will attend the following events in Kent County:                                                   

Sen. Carper will join Kent County representatives to see the UH-1 Huey Helicopter that he helped secure for the Veterans Memorial Park in Dover. Although formally dubbed the Iroquois, this workhorse of the Indochina war was more familiarly known as the “Huey,” primarily because of its original Army designation as a “helicopter, utility” or “HU-1.”

Time: 10 – 10:30 a.m.

Location: Carey’s Diesel, 168 Denny St., Dover, Del.

Sen. Carper will visit several Downtown Dover businesses to support the fourth annual Small Business Saturday initiative. Small Business Saturday is a national movement that marks a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday is a day to encourage folks to shop at local, independently-owned merchants.
