Event

WILMINGTON – On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) will ring the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive, outside of Walgreens/Happy Harry's in Wilmington and then put on his safety goggles to participate in chemistry activities at the Delaware Children's Museum (DCM).

The activities are part of the BASF "Kids Lab" program, a hands-on introduction to chemistry that gives children exposure to science principles and career possibilities in scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical (STEM) fields. Sen. Carper will tour the Museum's science exhibitions and investigate electrical fields in the "Flying Static Stick" program.

BASF is a supporter of the DCM, and will make a donation to the Museum at the start of the program.
