Sen. Carper will be joined by Gov. Markell, Sen. Coons and Rep. Carney to give remarks at the groundbreaking of the Joint Armed Forces Headquarters. The $39.5-million building will house the Delaware Guard headquarters and an element from the Naval Reserve.The 106,000-square-foot building is expected to be completed by May 2013. It will provide workspace for 205 Delaware Guardsmen and 118 Navy Reservists. The facility will be used for training, mobilization processing and administrative support, and maintenance for the Guard and the Navy Reserve.
