Sen. Carper will run in his 30th Caesar Rodney Half Marathon. The race is often described as "the granddaddy of Delaware road races," and often draws runners from as many as 20 countries around the world each year. Runners start in downtown Wilmington near Rodney Square, and from there head out for stretches along Brandywine Creek and the river, including stretches that run past the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge, Brandywine Park and Rockford Park. Runners finish the race just a few blocks from where they started, at Rodney Square on the corner of 10th and Market Streets. The race benefits the American Lung Association of Delaware.
