WASHINGTON – Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety, will convene a hearing to examine the Blue Ribbon Commission's proposed strategy for dealing with the nation's high-level nuclear waste and spent nuclear fuel, including its recommendations for a new, consent-based approach to siting future nuclear waste storage and management facilities.
