Event

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, one year since Superstorm Sandy made landfall causing billions of dollars’ worth of damage to communities up and down the East Coast, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, will thank Red Cross volunteers on the floor of the Senate for their hard work during last year’s evacuation and cleanup of communities not only in Delaware, but also in neighboring states.

Volunteers with the Red Cross Delmarva Chapter who volunteered in Delaware, New Jersey, and New York will travel to Washington D.C. to meet the Senator, listen to him deliver a floor speech in honor of their work on the Senate floor, and tour the Capitol. Press is invited to join them in the Senator’s office.
