Dover, Del. – Tomorrow, Sept. 27, 2012, Senator Tom Carper will join Senator Chris Coons and Congressman John Carney (all D-Del.) at Delaware State University (DSU) to announce a $5 million optics research grant.
The award was provided by the National Science Foundation for the 5-year renewal of the Center for Research and Education in Optical Sciences and Applications (CREOSA). The mission of CREOSA is to promote multidisciplinary research and education in optics, enhance research capabilities by engaging a diverse population of students, provide a rich intellectual environment for collaborative research and develop collaborations with the larger community. With the support of the Delaware Congressional Delegation, administration officials at DSU were able to secure funding to continue this cutting edge program.
