Sen. Carper, Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Clean Air, and the Delaware Nature Society will kick off an early Earth Day celebration with the Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge on Wilmington's Waterfront.

Sen. Carper will speak about the importance of Earth Day and showcase the electric Chevrolet Volt, a new vehicle option that will reduce air pollution and help Delaware families reduce their oil consumption.
