DOVER, Del. – On Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper will join Governor Jack Markell, U.S. Senator Chris Coons and Delaware Economic Development Office Deputy Director Bernice Whaley at the grand opening of Acorn Books in Dover. Small business owners Ginny Jewell and Marie Shane obtained a low-interest loan through the Delaware State Small Business Credit Initiative, which was funded by a $12.1 million commitment from the U.S. Treasury, to help them open this independent bookstore.
