More than 100 veterans, including veterans from World War II gathered at the Delaware Memorial Bridge for a Memorial Day Service Monday morning.
Senator Tom Carper, a veteran himself, emphasized how important it is to honor and thank those in the military.
He says the G.I. bill for today's servicemen helps provide free education and support once they are back home.
"We put our money where our mouth is, we don't just say thank you," he said.

In addition to thanking the veterans Carper thanked their family members for supporting and sharing their loved ones with the country.
