Senator Tom Carper has sent a third letter to the bipartisan “Super-Committee” on Deficit Reduction asking them to consider several proposals that would cut wasteful spending to reduce the deficit.
This letter follows one he and John McCain of Arizona wrote urging the adoption of their legislation regarding line item vetoes, and another Carper and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma sent urging the adoption of their legislation on the Fighting Fraud and Abuse to Save Taxpayer Dollars, or FAST, Act.
Among the proposals in his letter include reform for the postal service, improving federal agency IT and property management, and closing the tax gap.
