Baucus, Hatch, Camp Bill would Encourage U.S. Exports and Create Jobs
Jan 09 2014
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, issued the following statement in support of bipartisan, bicameral legislation -- The Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities Act of 2014 -- that would reform the process for trade negotiations and Congressional approval of trade agreements to facilitate trade pacts that increase U.S. exports and create American jobs:
“I welcome the introduction of this common-sense legislation that will bring the process surrounding trade deals into the 21st Century. And at time when we’re looking for ways to strengthen our economic recovery and create good jobs here at home, supporting this bill is a no-brainer. It modernizes and reforms our current process to make it more effective, improve transparency, and provide Congress with enhanced oversight of the Administration’s trade negotiation efforts. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues and the Administration to ensure that this must-pass legislation is quickly enacted.”
