Public is Asked to Help with Donations
Nov 26 2003
Wilmington, DE â?? The Food Bank of Delaware is 800 turkeys short of what it needs this Thanksgiving to feed the hungry, and Senator Tom Carper is calling on the public to lend a hand. This Thanksgiving week, one in ten Delaware households will run out food. â??Each day, tens of thousands of our citizens must make choices between spending their limited resources on food or paying for their utilities, rent, or needed medical care and medicine,â?쳌 said Senator Carper. "As long as there are hungry people, we must ask our neighbors to help as much as they can.â?쳌 To help with a donation of food, finances, or volunteer hours, please call the Food Bank of Delaware at (302) 292-2305 or visit the Food Bankâ??s website at www.fbd.org.
