Transportation and Infrastructure

Tom believes that if our nation’s businesses are to continue to grow and connect communities from all across the country, we need to invest in the roads, bridges, highways, and waterways that will help get them there. Tom is a leader in Congress on efforts to improve road safety, expand clean water access, reduce harmful emissions, and enhance resilience in our transportation system.

As Chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Tom played a leading role in the creation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. He led the Senate to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act —a once-in-a-generation, bipartisan investment to kick-start our economy and position our nation for the future. This bipartisan bill brought concrete changes to every corner of the First State and the country, including investments in highways, bridges, transit, broadband, drinking water and wastewater, and electric vehicle charging station infrastructure.
