Health Care

One of Tom’s top priorities is to improve the quality of our health care system, curb health care costs, and ensure that more Americans and their families have access to affordable and reliable health care coverage.

As a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee, Tom worked with his colleagues to help craft and pass the Affordable Care Act in 2010. Since then, the Affordable Care Act has lowered costs and expanded access to quality care—including those with pre-existing conditions—for millions of American families, and led to the largest drop in our nation’s uninsured rate in decades.

Tom also helped craft provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to lower the cost of prescription drugs for families up and down the First State and across the nation.

Tom will always strive to make our health care system work better for all Americans.
