Medicare enrollment is OPEN!

Dear Friend,

Medicare is a sacred promise to our seniors, and a lifeline for millions of Americans expecting to retire with dignity. That’s why today I am writing to let you know about the upcoming deadline to enroll, re-enroll, or switch Medicare plans for coverage that goes into effect in the new year.

You have until December 7, 2023, to review available Medicare plans and make changes to your coverage starting in 2024. During this time, you can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan from traditional Medicare, switch Medicare Advantage plans, or move from a Medicare Advantage plan to traditional Medicare. If you are enrolled in traditional Medicare, you can also enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or switch between Part D plans. Please visit Medicare.gov or call (1-800-633-4227) for more information on how to enroll in coverage. TTY users can call (1-877-486-2048).

Government is at its best when it works for working people. That’s why I’m also happy to report several key improvements to Medicare coverage as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act that President Biden signed into law last year.

This transformative legislation has empowered Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices for Americans with conditions like arthritis, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure. That’s a big deal – and on top of that, Americans on Medicare now pay no more than $35 for a month’s worth of insulin. These are two key changes that are making a big difference for seniors up and down our state and across the country.

That’s what I call a win-win, but you can only take advantage of these new cost-saving measures if you enroll in coverage for the upcoming year. Don’t delay – enroll today!

Sincerely,

Tom Carper
