Time is running out to help your community!

Dear Friend,

The past few months have not been easy. Our normal lives have been upended in ways we never could have imagined. Across our country, we’ve lost over 200,000 of our fellow Americans, including 600 brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and grandparents from Delaware. This loss of life is tragic. Today, and every day, I pray for all those who are missing loved ones right now.

While we are certainly facing unprecedented hardships as a nation, I’m continually in awe of the strength, hope, and sense of community I’ve seen throughout the First State. We’ve also seen how important it is to know where people are and what they need and how crucial it is to properly plan for future crises. The best way we can do that is by having an accurate count of all Delawareans throughout the First State. And if you take just six minutes out of your day, you can help. Please fill out your census form as soon as possible and then tell a loved one to do the same!

The census provides government agencies with important information about our nation, including information that allows them to provide essential and much needed services across the board. Over the next 10 years, census data will be used to decide how much federal funding the citizens of Delaware get for numerous critical services, including health care, roads, infrastructure projects, emergency services, and other matters important to our everyday lives. These funds will also be crucial in helping to prepare for future health care crises like Covid-19. Having proper census data is more important than ever to ensure that our state and our communities get our fair share of federal funding. And to collect that data, we need your help!

It has never been easier to respond to the census. You can do it online, over the phone or by mail. Please take advantage of these convenient ways to complete your form and fill out your Census either online at My2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020.

From our beaches all the way up to the streets of Wilmington and beyond, Delawareans across the First State are still looking for things to do or ways to have a positive impact on our community during these trying times – and filling out your census forms is one of the very best ways we can do that. It’s an easy task that will have a profound impact on the health and safety of our communities. Please help shape the future of Delaware and fill out your census at My2020census.gov today.

God bless and stay safe,

Tom Carper
