Carper Applauds Biden Announcement That U.S. Will Have Enough Vaccines For 300M Americans By July

“In the race against this pandemic, we win by getting vaccines into the arms of as many Americans as possible as quickly as possible”

Washington, D.C. – Today, during his visit to the National Institutes of Health, President Joe Biden announced that his administration formalized its contracts with Pfizer and Moderna and had secured 200 million additional doses of the coronavirus vaccines. With these additional doses, which bring the United States’ total supply to 600 million doses, the nation would have enough doses to vaccinate 300 million Americans by the end of July. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) released the following statement after the President’s announcement.

“With a President who made tackling COVID-19 with a strategic federal response a day-one priority for his Administration, our nation is getting one step closer to putting this pandemic in our rearview mirror. President Biden understands that if we want to get our economy back on track, Americans back to work, businesses reopened, and students back into their classrooms, we must crush this virus and, in the race against this pandemic, we win by getting vaccines into the arms of as many Americans as possible as quickly as possible. I look forward to working with President Biden, my colleagues in Congress, and states and local governments to ensure that vaccines are distributed equitably, efficiently and effectively to millions all across the United States.”
