Delaware Delegation Supports Federal Grant to Restore GM Boxwood Plant

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Delaware’s federal delegation, Sens. Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman (both D-Del.) and Congressman Mike Castle (R-Del.), released a statement today supporting the White House’s proposal to spend some $14 million in federal trust fund money to rehabilitate the shuttered General Motors Boxwood Plant in Newport.

“This money would bring Delaware one step closer to building 21st century cars using clean energy technology. It would also help restore the building back to the world-class auto manufacturing facility it once was, while protecting the safety and health of the community and the workers who will build Fisker automobiles.”
