Senator Carper’s Recess Schedule for Monday, August 2, 2004

Visit to Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club Tour of Dassault Falcon Jet Facility

Wilmington, DE – Senator Tom Carper will spend Monday, August 2, 2004, in New Castle County. Senator Carper will begin his day with a tour of the Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club Camp. The camp averages 280 children per week. Campers participate in a variety of activities, including swimming, arts & crafts, educational programs, prevention programs, athletics and field trips. After the tour, the Senator will work on a science project with a group of six and seven year old junior campers in the Learning Center. The Senator will then visit the Dassault Falcon Jet’s Wilmington Facility. This 40,000 square-foot world-class East Coast service operation paint hangar broke ground last summer, and construction was just completed this week. The first plane went into the hangar to be painted last Saturday. The state-of-the-art hangar is a multi-bay facility specializing in the application of aircraft exterior paint and design. The new facility significantly improves both the efficiency and capacity of the Wilmington Service facility and is designed to handle the Dassault Falcon 7X and other large business jets. Twenty-five new technician jobs will be created with the opening of this facility.
