Sen. Carper on Senate Confirmation of Charles Oberly, III for U.S. Attorney for the State of Delaware

WASHINGTON – Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) issued the following statement responding to the Senate’s confirmation of  Charles Oberly for U.S. Attorney for the State of Delaware.

 

“I’d like to thank my colleagues in the Senate for their confirmation of Charles Oberly. Charlie served Delaware as an outstanding prosecutor for many years and now serves as a highly respected attorney in private practice. I am confident Charlie will continue to serve the people of Delaware well in his new role of federal prosecutor, upholding the high intellectual and ethical standards that this position requires. As the U.S. Attorney from Delaware, Charlie will make us all proud. I look forward to seeing Charlie sworn into his new role.”

 

Charles Oberly, III served three full terms as the elected Attorney General of the State of Delaware. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Currently, Charles is a partner at the law firm of Drinker Biddle and Reath LLP, where he specializes in criminal defense and corporate, commercial and civil litigation.
