Senator Carper to Participate in American Soldier Timeline Event

Senator Carper to speak about his experiences in the Navy during Vietnam

Wilmington, DE – Senator Tom Carper will spend Saturday, May 8, 2004, taking part in the American Soldier Timeline’s living-history event. A series of “living history tents” will be set up, whereby numerous individuals will speak about their experiences in history. Senator Carper will speak about his time in Vietnam. The Senator completed five years of service as a Naval flight officer, serving in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. He went on to serve another 18 years in the Naval Reserve and retired with the rank of Captain. With over 600 re-enactors representing soldiers from different wars, this will be a one-of-a-kind timeline of American military history that stretches from the French and Indian War to the modern combat soldier.
