Carper to Join Celebration of Diversity on Holiday Designed to Encourage and Empower

Senator's Schedule for Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend

GEORGETOWN, DE- Senator Tom Carper will join this holiday weekend in celebrations of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Carper will celebrate Dr. King’s vision and unparalleled achievements with a diverse group of area scholars, educators, musicians and community leaders throughout the state. Additionally, Carper will meet with postal managers at their Eastern Region Conference, help Shirley Price and Theresa Murray surprise their mother at her surprise 80th birthday party, and work alongside the Soto family as they build their new Habitat for Humanity home. Arturo and Angelina Soto have lived in Georgetown for the last ten years. Arturo works for a forklift operator for Purdue, and he and his wife are the proud parents of two-year old Alma. They learned about Habitat for Humanity through the counselors at La Esperanza.
