Carper to Join Celebration of Diversity on Holiday Designed to Encourage and Empower, Senator’s Schedule for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

GEORGETOWN, DE – Senator Tom Carper will join Monday in two celebrations of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Carper will celebrate Dr. King’s vision and unparalleled achievements with a diverse group of area scholars, educators, musicians and community leaders in Seaford and Dover. MONDAY 1/21 11:00 a.m. Sussex County’s “United We Stand” Community Day of Celebration, OPENING CEREMONY Carper to stand with the Sussex County community to celebrate the values Dr. King inspired. Location: Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club, 310 Virginia Ave, Seaford 12:00 p.m. Del State’s Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Carper will reflect on the man and the spirit of the holiday, joining special guest educator and humanitarian Bette McLeod, and the Sankofa African dancers and drummers in Del State’s annual diversity celebration.
