Sen. Carper to Host the 10th Annual U.S. Service Academy Information Night

WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) announced his 10th Annual U.S. Service Academy Information Night for Delaware middle and high school students, along with their families, teachers and guidance counselors.

 

"Our nation’s first-rate service academies offer students a unique opportunity to obtain an excellent education, serve their country and gain valuable leadership skills that will guide them in their future," said Sen. Carper. "This information night provides students and their families with a helpful forum to come and learn more about the opportunities available at our service academies."

 

The annual event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in the Education and Technology Building on the Terry Campus of Delaware Technical and Community College in Dover. Sen. Carper will begin the program with a few remarks at 6 p.m., followed by informational breakout sessions from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

 

Sen. Carper will be joined by representatives from the service academies and other military organizations at the 10th Annual U.S. Service Academy Information Night. Participants include the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the United States Military Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy and the Delaware National Guard, as well as Air Force, Army and Navy ROTC program representatives.
