Presentation of Congressional Record Statement at Wesley Graduation to Gagliardi Trophy Winner Attend Interfaith Prayer Ceremony for Tsunami Victims at Hindu Temple

Wilmington, DE – Senator Tom Carper will attend Wesley College’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, January 15, 2005, and will present Jeffrey “Rocky” Myers with a congressional record statement for being awarded the 12th annual Gagliardi Trophy. This award is given to the outstanding football player in NCAA Division III and is the Division III equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. A Delaware native, Rocky played in all 10 games of the 2004 season for the 8-2 Wesley College Wolverines and totaled 124 tackles, including 62 solo, along with 62 assists. On Sunday, January 16, 2005, Senator Carper will take part in the Interfaith Prayer Ceremony at the Hindu Temple in Hockessin to offer his thoughts and prayers for the victims of the tsunami that devastated parts of Asia.
