Sen. Carper Announces Christiana Fire Company to Receive $245,000 Grant

U.S. Department of Homeland Security awards money for self contained breathing apparatus project

Wilmington, DE – Senator Tom Carper announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded the Christiana Fire Company a $245,682 grant to upgrade and replace the existing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). This money would go toward the Christiana Fire Company’s local share of $105,291 to complete the total SCBA project at a cost of $350,973. The SCBA project is an integral part of the fire company’s mission to protect the lives and property of the residents of Delaware. “I commend the Christiana Fire Company’s commitment to keeping Delaware a safe place to live,” said Senator Carper. “This grant will enable the Christiana Fire Company to continue to effectively care for the citizens it serves.”
