Sen. Carper Participates in “Destination Station” Announcement in Sussex County

Wilmington, DE- Senator Carper has been invited by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce to participate in announcing an exciting new project called Destination Station. The Center is comprised of an Energy Exploratorium, Visitor Service, and Transit Center. The Educational Mission of the Energy Exploratorium is to inform visitors of all ages about energy principles and wise use of energy resources through an engaging, interactive exhibit program. Senator Carper has played a crucial role in the development of this project. As governor, he helped secure funds for the project and was instrumental in the developmental stages. As senator, Carper and his staff members have offered ideas, set up meetings between companies and project leaders, and served as a liaison with members of the community. The Center will be an environmentally friendly building located adjacent to the current DelDOT Park and Ride facility on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach. The facility will act as a transit hub and encourage the use of shuttle service. Full press packets will be available the day of the announcement ceremony.
