Carper Kicks Offf Housing Summit

WILMINGTON, DE – Senator Tom Carper will join with Delaware families and state and federal housing experts next week for a series of summits designed to address the growing problem of access to affordable housing. The three county tour kicks off Monday and will feature speakers from HUD and local housing agencies. The forums are free and open to the public. “Our nation is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis that has largely gone unnoticed. Sadly, the largest problems are the ones that receive the least attention. These town hall meetings are a chance to hear first hand from those who have answers to these difficult questions and those most effected,” Carper said. “Limited access to affordable housing has put the American dream out of reach for so many.” Carper held similar town-hall tours on prescription drug assistance for seniors; federal energy legislation; national education reform; tackling terrorism; the farm bill and the federal budget.
