Sen. Carper To Hold Tele-Town Hall On Health Care Reform on Monday, April 19
WILMINGTON –Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) will hold a tele-town hall meeting on health care reform to hear questions, comments and concerns from Delawareans regarding the recently enacted comprehensive health reform law, and share his own thoughts. The call will begin at 6:30 pm on Monday, April 19, 2010.
“In March, the President signed the comprehensive health reform bill into law, marking a historic moment for our country after decades of struggle for reform. The law will help more than 130,000 Delawareans get health care coverage while improving our nation’s health care services. The bill will not only reduce health care costs for families and businesses, but also reduce the federal deficit by $1.3 trillion dollars over the next 20 years,” said Sen. Carper.
“I believe this law is an important step of many as we continue to improve our nation’s health care system.I know Delawareans have a lot of questions about our comprehensive health reform legislation and how it will impact them. I invite you to join my tele-town hall so I can help answer your questions about this important legislation.”
The tele-town hall is part of an ongoing effort by Sen. Carper to address questions and concerns Delawareans have about the new health reform law. This tele-town hall with have a focus on the health care bill’s impact on small businesses; however all constituents are invited to participate.
