Sen. Carper’s Statement on Resignation of DEDO Director Alan Levin

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del) released the following statement on the news that Delaware Economic Development Office Director Alan Levin is stepping down:

“Alan Levin’s leadership, vision and expertise was greatly needed by Delaware when he joined Governor Markell’s cabinet to lead the Office of Economic Development in 2009. The economy was in the throes of the worst recession we’ve seen in generations, and businesses large and small were closing. Alan’s years in the Delaware business community, including many at the helm of Happy Harry’s, prepared him for six years as director, working to attract companies of all sizes to relocate to or expand their operations in Delaware. His hard work helped make Delaware the top state in our region for job growth. He faces each challenge head on, and I wish him the best of luck as he joins SoDel Concepts and lends his expertise to a great Delaware company.”
