Sen. Carper’s Statement on the Passing of Former Wilmington City Fire Chief Jim Ford

WILMINGTON – Today, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) issued the following statement following the news that former Wilmington City Fire Chief Jim Ford passed away:

“Today is a sad day for the City of Wilmington with the news of Former Wilmington Fire Chief Jim Ford’s passing. Just last week I was able to say hello to him as he greeted me at the Chase Center on the Riverfront where he was safety and security manager for the Riverfront Development Corporation. No one deserved the Dan Frawley Community Service Award, an honor given to him recently by the St. Patrick’s Day Society, more than him. He devoted much of his career to protecting the city and my deepest condolences go out to his family and the Wilmington fire community.”
