Sen. Carper Statement on Retirement of DEMA Director Jamie Turner

U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), Ranking member on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, released this statement today on the retirement of Jamie Turner as Director of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency:

“My gratitude goes out to Jamie Turner for his dedication to keeping Delawareans safe. Jamie was at the helm of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency through several of Delaware’s biggest weather events, like Superstorm Sandy, and helped keep the state’s emergency management and response team ready to go at a moment’s notice. I especially thank him for working with me to get the word out to Delawareans about the importance of preparedness for all types of emergencies, and I look forward to working with his successor on these efforts in the future.”
