Senator Carper Announces Staffing Changes
Katie Wilson Joins Team as Press Secretary
WILMINGTON, Del. – Katie Wilson joins Sen. Tom Carper’s (D-Del) office as Press Secretary. Wilson was formerly the Communications Manager at the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. There, she managed public relations, was managing editor of Delaware Business magazine, editor of its Web site, www.dscc.com, and assisted with DSCC events. Prior to her time at DSCC, Wilson worked for the Courier-Post, a Gannett-owned newspaper in Cherry Hill, N.J., as a business reporter.
Wilson, graduated from the University of Delaware in 2005 and earned a Bachelors degree in English with a concentration in journalism and a minor in political science. She lives with her husband, Ben Wilson, in Wilmington, Del. and is looking forward to working with Sen. Carper and his team.
Carper’s former Press Secretary, Emily Cunningham, recently began working as Delaware Lt. Governor Matt Denn’s Chief of Staff.
“We are excited to have Katie on board with us,” Carper said. “We also wish Emily well in her new endeavor. Emily was an asset to our team and worked tirelessly over the last six years to help me serve the people of Delaware, and I know she will continue to do great things in Lt. Governor Matt Denn’s office.”
