Senator Carper Launches New Web Page to Track Immigration Reform

Website can be found at

WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, announced the launch of a new website,, which will provide information and updates regarding the Senate’s consideration of comprehensive immigration reform legislation. Last week, the full Senate began debate on the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (S. 744).

The new pages on Sen. Carper’s website are designed to keep Delawareans and all Americans up to date with the status of immigration reform on the Senate floor, as well as Sen. Carper’s work on the bill. As Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which is responsible for overseeing our nation’s border and port security, Sen. Carper has been a central figure in ensuring that immigration reform includes strong, smart and effective border security provisions. As the debate continues, these web resources will be updated to reflect the legislation’s progress and will include information on specific provisions, floor speeches and other relevant materials.

“This new feature on my website is designed to keep Delawareans and all Americans informed of the immigration debate underway in the Senate,” said Senator Carper. “For too long, our immigration system has been broken. Now is the time for Democrats and Republicans to come together around a bipartisan, comprehensive solution that is effective, humane and fair. Additionally, this legislation should ensure that our immigration system improves our nation’s economic competitiveness while safeguarding our security. As we move forward with this process, I hope this website will provide much-needed facts and information on provisions in the immigration bill, as well as what I’m doing to help make this critical reform effort happen.”
